Uneven Skin Tones
and Sun Spots

Uneven skin tones can range from light spots on your skin to dark patches such as in melasma. There are many treatments at Harmony Laser Center that can help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tones regardless of how light or dark they are. Sun spots can also be considered uneven skin tones and are treated in a similar fashion that will greatly reduce their appearance and even remove them from your skin.

Additional Names for Uneven Skin Tones/Sun Spots

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun Damage
  • Age Spots
  • Melasma

Suggested Treatments

An uneven skin tone, or hyperpigmentation, is the result of an over production of melanin. Melanin is what gives skin and hair its color, helps protect skin against damaging UV light and absorbs heat from the sun. However, an overproduction of melanin stimulated by excessive sun exposure, hormones, or scarring, leads to a mottled, uneven skin tone.  Sun spots are typically the result of excessive exposure to the sun over time.

Commonly Asked Questions

  • I have had dark spots on my cheeks for years and have spent thousands of dollars on products trying to get rid of them. Is there a treatment that can be done one time that will get rid of these spots for good?
  • Depending on what type of spots you have, there is a good chance that you are going to see much better results from a treatment at Harmony Laser Center than an over the counter product.

Setting up a complimentary consultation with our specialists will help to get you a much more detailed and personalized answer to this question as everyone’s skin is unique and some people get results from one treatment and others need 2-3 treatments to get their desired result.*
