Solar Protection Formula®

The most complete sun protection under the sun.

No other sunscreen compares to the protective capability of Solar Protection Formula. Composed of a multitude of ingredients to protect your skin against the sun and its harmful effects, Solar Protection Formulas utilize multiple sizes of highly reflective micronized particles of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and iron oxide. These particles, when combined with unique trace elements form a barrier against the entire ultraviolet (UV) spectrum, specifically Ultraviolet B (UVB) and Ultraviolet A (UVA) rays*. In these unique products, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, or Maritime Pine extract counteract free-radical damage and increase protection against UV and acute oxidation damage as well as strengthen the effectiveness of your atmospheric skin-shield. Each formulation provides unparalleled protection against the damaging effects of the sun and is an excellent product for those diagnosed as medically photosensitive. Solar Protection Formula® is daily sun protection – not just a summer beach product.

*A note about UV and why SPF is just not enough.

UVA, unlike UVB, is consistently the same all day, all month, and all year long. UVA rays present the same damaging effects to the skin in mid-December at 9:00 a.m., as in mid-July at 3:00 p.m. UVA radiation penetrates deeper into the skin than UVB and is significantly more damaging. It is the deeper penetrating wavelength more often associated with wrinkling, pigmentation, and long-term skin damage, whereas UVB creates the red, painful irritation first experienced during early sun exposure. The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) rating system is only a determination of protection from UVB and does not address a sunscreen’s protective capabilities from harmful UVA radiation. Both UVB and UVA radiation are recognized as causing skin cancer.
